Growing up just down the road from where Elvis Presley was born in Tupelo, MS, John grew up surrounded by gospel and blues- constantly listening to Ray Charles and Elton John records. After playing hundreds of piano bars in college, John wrote and produced his first project, "Sides of The Soul" in 2009. He toured over 30 shows with Sister Hazel, opened solo for artists such as BB King and Maroon 5, and sang on NBC's Today Show. John moved from Tupelo MS to Nashville and signed his first publishing deal as a staff writer with Reba Mcentire's company Starstruck in 2015. Now recently signed to Demolition Music and about to release his 2nd album early September. "John is a powerhouse of precision vocals", David Kershenbaum, (produced Bryan Adams, Tracy Chapman) "Incredible melodic instinct-one of the strongest singers I've seen in a long time. True Artist." Robert Johnson ( writer/producer-Celine Dion, Lynyrd Skynrd). The Tupelo native has released an album that is pretty much incredible, especially from a "new"artist that writes, produces, and performs all of their material. Milstead has what some call an "old soul". - Chuck Dauphin, Music News Nashville-
